C² was once a small, disadvantaged, woman-owned business, and benefited from partnerships with large firms. Now, as a mid-size company, we are committed to partnering with small emerging businesses. Our leadership is currently involved in mentoring several emerging businesses. C² recognizes the important contributions made by small businesses to our Nation. We believe small businesses, including small, disadvantaged, woman-owned, veteran-owned, HUB zone companies and Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Institutions (HBCU/MIs), bring good capabilities and technical know-how to assist C² and better serve our customers. By working together, we tap the strength of diversity. Our highly-talented employees, in conjunction with our small business teammates' professional staff, bring tremendous and extraordinary depth and breadth of technical expertise to creating solutions that help solve complex problems for our Nation. Our collective experience and innovative ideas are key to jointly building business in a wide range of areas. "Small Business is Smart Business" At C², working with small businesses is more than a commitment or a strategy. It's smart business, and is supported at the highest levels of management. Mentoring and teaming with small businesses is fundamental to C²'s business objectives. |
C² employs the following criteria in selecting small businesses to participate in its procurement and acquisition process:
Almost all subcontracting activity is accomplished through up front teaming on specific procurements. Therefore, it is critical that small businesses interested in teaming have capabilities/niches relating to a specific statement of work contained in a procurement. Additionally, two great discriminators or differentiators are knowledge of the customer and strong past-performance qualifications. Our concept of teaming works both ways. In addition to priming efforts, C² also works with select qualified small businesses in pursuing strategic set-asides where C² can bring strength to the team. Either way, we seek companies that are financially stable, cost-competitive, and have access to a deep resource pool. |
